Early settlement of the area began in the 1600 by the Dutch, but it wasn’t until an early 20th century gold rush that interest was sparked for the area. During this time, British lamps lit the mines dotting the countryside. The Darwin collection by Urban Ambiance is modeled after these British lamps.
