This Ship Lantern is a beautiful working handcrafted reproduction in heavy brass cast hardware of an old Chief Lanterns. It used to be originally designed in the 19th century for the Chief mate to find his way all the way through the dark deck of the sailing ship all through evening hour topside inspections. It still can be utilized out on the open sea, but also they are unbelievable for emergency storm lighting, they do everything the hurricane oil lanterns do and more. This ship lantern stands 10″ tall without the deal with and is 5.5″ wide. The oil burning pot and wick unit are serviced from the opened hinged door on the front of the oil lantern and will also be converted into electric nautical light. The wicks are replacable. You’ll also choose to mount on your wall with one of our brass wall hangers.
Solid brass, comes with a wick installed, burns standard Lamp Oil or Kerosene.
